Felipe Veloso

Received his B.Sc. (2002) and Ph.D. (2008) in Physics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC-Chile). He worked as a researcher at the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission before joining UC-Chile in 2012, where he is now Associate Professor. His research focuses on experimental plasma physics, pulsed power technology, and advanced plasma diagnostics, with applications in high energy density physics and Z pinch plasmas. He has authored over 45 publications, holds a patent, and has led multiple funded research projects. Dr. Veloso has presented extensively at international conferences, chaired the 17th Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics (2025), and is organizing the 2026 Dense Z pinch Conference. He is also active in science education and outreach, contributing to UC-Chile Pedagogy Program in Physics, and national ANID Explora initiatives. Currently, he serves as Academic Director of the “Ciencia 2030 UC” project, fostering collaboration between academia and industry in Chile.
