Executive Director of the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission (CCHEN) since May 31, 2023. Theoretical physicist with a PhD in Science (Physics) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Scientific Studies (CECs) and held research stays at the Abdus Salam ICTP (Trieste), among others. He has advised the Ministry of Education and Fundación Chile on curriculum and teacher training, and has evaluated national programs including the Millennium Science Initiative, CONICYT, Explora, and MECESUP. A co-founder and former Scientific Director of the Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM), he is active in science outreach; his publications span quantum optics, high-energy physics, and science education. At the University of Talca, he was a full-time researcher, created and led the PhD in Applied Sciences, and served as Academic Vice President (and later a candidate for Rector). He joined CCHEN in 2020 as Head of the Division of Nuclear Research and Applications through a Senior Public Management competitive process.
